Inspiration for Aspiration
I get to meet a lot of animals and people in my travels about Sun City Texas. There are some that become good friends and some that are more than that- they are an inspiration. I have always aspired to be the best dog that I can be and try to give something to everyone that I meet if only a lick or a sympathetic ear. Recently I overheard Mom talking about two friends that I had met a while back and was highly impressed by their accomplishments. She was showing some new homeowners around right before their closing and they ran into Meredith Mitchell at the City Market. Mom said that Meredith was extremely welcoming to her customers/new homeowners and made them feel so at ease about the community that they would soon call home.
I can't think of two better ambassadors for Sun City Texas and Georgetown than Meredith and Roberta Mitchell. Individually, both Meredith and Roberta are active in many clubs and activities. Meredith is a sculptor and a member of the Creative Clay and China Club. Here's a picture of him with some of his ceramic work. He is very prolific and his works are quite organic.
He also is the webmaster for the Computer Club and coordinator for the Computer Club Junior Camp which is a two-week day camp for grandchildren. You have to love a good computer geek! In his spare time, Meredith is an opera enthusiast, a musician, and an author. You can take a look at his book "Hero or Victim", sculptures, crochet, paintings and listen to him play piano on his website herovictim. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Psychology. Even though I am not human, I am practicing the awakening of my inner hero with some success.
Roberta Mitchell is elegant, poised and very active too. I think she is beautiful, I love her red hair and she reminds me of Shirley MacLaine.
She is a member of the Fabric and Fiber Club and Beading Special Interest Group (SIG), Alternative Healing and Wellness Club and facilitated the formation of a Nutrition SIG. Wow, I know who to consult when I get an annoying neck cramp or need a dietary change. She also loves Tai Chi classes, enjoys the indoor walking track at the Cowan Creek Amenity Center, and continues to learn at Senior University and Brown Symposium classes at Southwestern University. Every June, Roberta looks forward to the Williamson County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo which includes top cowboys from Texas and Louisiana. She is involved in Georgetown community organizations as a member of the Georgetown Symphony and the Palace Theater. She brings to these organizations her expertise from a past affiliation with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. Before moving to Sun City with Meredith, Roberta was a Realtor and Executive Director for the American Institute of Wine and Food, an educational organization dedicated to promoting health and well-being
through the enjoyment of good food and drink.
I can only aspire to some of the accomplishments of Roberta and Meredith Mitchell. But I have added some things to my bucket list because Roberta and Meredith have inspired me to get my fur in gear. There's so much to do and so little time!
